What to say on the phone

Ask these when you book rather than on arrival. Once you are gowned and in the chair, declining an add-on becomes socially much harder — which is the reason they come up at that moment.

2. "If I join the membership today, is there an enrolment or annual fee on top?"

Most budgets break at the cadence, not the price. Women's haircut maintained every 10 weeks works out to roughly $414 per year once gratuity is included.

Gratuity is included at 20% because it is effectively compulsory. Remove it if you prefer to budget on a separate line.

Gratuity, converted from percentages into money

Two rules do most of the work: tip on the service before tax, and tip the person who performed it.
